Grew up amongst migrant farmworker families in the small town of Castroville, California. Lady Rise’s letter styles carry the stories of resistance, not only in her word but the colors, which carry the land’s essence and experiences. Her studio work focuses on the feminine expressed through portraits of women she admires and respects. Some portraits are of historical women and others are women she knows personally, family or community members. Re-learning her native language is one of her intents and has been incorporating that language in her recent paintings. http://www.pictame.com/user/neoglyphix/3432649936

Because of an undying love for music, I was drawn to the DJ scene. The roots were seeded back in the early 70's. Hailing from Baltimore MD, there were plenty of cultural influences. I began DJaying in the early 90s and evolved into what I am today. Through hard work, dedication and commitment, I was able to surpass most of my peers in skill level and musical knowledge. I have found a home in Tucson and have really enjoyed the local scene. Honored to have been invited to this event. Let's get it!!!
